Ingredients for preparing Sprouted Methi Samar
- Tomato – 2
- Green chillies – 3
- Toor dal – ½ cup
- Fenugreek -1½ cup
- Tamarind – small lemon size
- Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp
- Chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – 1tsp
- Asafoetida powder – pinch
- Mustard seeds -1 tsp
- Urad dal (Uzhunnu Parippu) -1 tsp
- Dry red chilli – 2
- Curry leaves – A few
- Coriander leaves – A few
- Salt – As per taste
- Oil – as per needed
Steps for preparing Sprouted Methi Sambar
- Wash thoroughly toor dal and fenugreek and soak in water for 15 minutes. Pressure cook it with turmeric powder and curry leaves.
- Heat oil in a pan, add green chillies, and stir for a while. Then add chopped tomatoes and fry for 5 minutes.
- Mix it with cooked dal and fenugreek, stir well. Add Chilli powder
- Coriander powder, tamarind juice, asafoetida powder and salt. Bring to boil in low flame.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter. Then add Urad dal, dry red chillies and curry leaves, fry for a minute and pour it to the sambar.
- Finally add chopped coriander leaves to the sambar.
